My name is Stephanie, born and raised in NYC. I moved to Florida and in my time here I’ve felt a void. For a while I wondered why if I’m married, have friends, family, and church family. I don’t have kids, so I said hmmmm I’m not missing a kid. Then I realized I am. I’m missing my dog child.

I grew up with a dog named Peluche (stuffed animal). My brother brought him home as a surprise. When I was 23 Peluche passed away and I was devastated. It was as if I lost my relative, in fact I did. As an abandoned child Peluche was my companion. Aside from God protecting me, Peluche did too.
Soon after, My mother was gifted a Pomeranian to be her support dog after we lost Peluche. Her name was Star. My mother spoiled her in a way I never thought we could spoil a dog. After my mother passed away my husband and I stood with Star. She became my best friend, my sister/child, and most of all my companion. She knew when I was down, sad, ANXIOUS etc. Star traveled with us, slept over relatives house with us, and did EVERYTHING with us.

One hot Summer, I realized that Star was unresponsive; I got Star cremated and carried with her for a lifetime. I was sad, but at the same time, I was happy because she gave us a great 12 years.

The Search

For a few months I’ve been saying I’m finally ready for a dog. I started searching endless hours on instagram and researching online for golden doodles after finding out that they are great companion and family dogs. Page after page, inbox after inbox I bumped into The Mejias Puppy Love Page. After writing the page trying to gather information for my future dog I realized that this company is more than just a company. It’s a family that LOVES their puppies and want to make sure their puppies go to great homes. That’s what made all the difference for me to follow this page and stay in touch

I went to google to find this company and read all the reviews. I was pretty impressed with all the positive feedback. After interacting with Mariela for some time I started to feel the comments in real life time. Mariela knew I couldn’t afford the dog at the moment due to a few current life events. One thing she told me that stood out was “God knows when the time is right. “Not only am I heavy on God and faith, it showed me her heart.

I prayed to God and told him “God you know I’m happiest when I have a dog. If it’s your will, it’s your bill.” A week after this prayer Mariela inboxed me after me liking her story to let me know about The Give of Love program that they have as a company. Mariela already Knew my story! so she ask me if I would like to adopt one of her beautiful puppies. I said YES!  She said but that’s not the dog you want. Again Mariela showed her commitment to finding the perfect dog for the family and the perfect family for her puppies. Although it is not the color I initially wanted, she is a female just like I wanted and my husband reminded me it’s not always what you want but what you need. And if God did it, it’s because it’s what you need.

My heart melted when Mariela said Stephanie this transaction is going to be as if you paid for her. Meaning you’re getting updated vet records, paperwork and a contract. The delivery will be as if you purchased her as well. I couldn’t believe I’m getting a puppy that cost thousands for free and getting it the way a paying client would get it. If that isn’t the most professional thing I’ve heard than I don’t know.

I haven’t slept since Mariela told me she is blessing my family with one of her puppies. I am so excited to meet her and spend many years with her. The Mejias Puppy Love family is the way to go! Hands down!
